Wayne Emerson Gregory Jr.

Aside from Gregory Jr.’s professional pursuits, he is extremely passionate about sports. In particular, Wayne has always had a love for football.

Wayne Emerson Gregory Jr. was an active member of the football and baseball teams while in high school. Growing up in South Carolina, Gregory Jr. was a fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks, and even attended several games as a child. Gregory Jr. says that sports remain a large part of his life to this day. He draws parallels between the competitive mindset that sports requires and nursing.

When Gregory Jr. is not watching or playing sports, he is actively seeking his Bachelors of Science in Nursing. After spending an entire career working in project management, Wayne finds nursing to be a breath of fresh air. He is extremely passionate about providing the best possible care to every patient he encounters. 

Wayne specializes in ICU care, which requires not only the technical skills, but also people skills. In this position, Gregory frequently sees patients who have just undergone a surgery or even experienced some kind of life-threatening emergency. He prides himself in  the patient care he provides to these individuals, and treats them the way  he would hope to be treated if in the same situation.

Wayne has dedicated his career to helping people, whether that be through project management or nursing. When asked, Gregory Jr. says that his Christian faith is his guiding principle in all that he does. 

As the Economic Development  Project Manager of Columbia, South Carolina, Gregory Jr. obtained an immense amount of experience and skills that prepared him for his new career in nursing. Wayne worked closely with members of the community to ensure that their needs were being met. For example, Gregory presented many plans to community members, commissions groups, and civics groups. His role demanded that he was able to  effectively communicate plans to others and this is something that he excelled in.

Wayne Emerson Gregory Jr. is a dynamic individual with several notable accomplishments. He is committed to lifelong learning,  which is why he decided to pursue a nursing degree after fifteen years in project management.
